Reading feeds via javascript

After i’ve hosted my personal site to github. I faced a problem, only static contents are worked in hosting.Ofcourse, it’s free and you can’t expect like other hostings.

One thing i need to do is pass the feeds from this site to my main site. Ofcourse, with the server side language, you can do easily for this case. But you can’t run any server side file in github. So i need to do in html level, javascript.

I’ve search through the various javascript plugin. Luckily i found one plugin, that is so cool. It’s FeedEk JQuery RSS/ATOM Feed Plugin

The usage is too simple.
– include the jquery libray.
– and include it’s plugin file.
– and configure based on your needs and just specify the container that you want to fill the feeds.

Example:

<div id="posts"></div>
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.9.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="FeedEk.js"></script>

<script type="text/javascript">
    $('#posts').FeedEk({
    FeedUrl : 'http://note.winminsoe.me/atom.xml',
    MaxCount : 10,
    ShowDesc : false,
    ShowPubDate:true,
    DescCharacterLimit:300,
    TitleLinkTarget:'_blank'
    });
</script>

It’s so simple and really nice. You can read detail at their site.
